Embracing Britain

Following the hugely successful ‘Leading the Way’ campaign that celebrated 50 years of Range Rover, we were tasked with showing how Range Rover is the vehicle that both inspires and enables the luxury of extraordinary experiences.

We teamed up with inspirational individuals who took us on a journey to their favourite destination, a place that resonated personally for them, that special place that formulated the passion that still drives them today.

Simon Rogan

Chef Simon has always taken his inspiration from the earth, and from the deep-seated satisfaction of growing and foraging food, and has championed the farm to fork approach. When lockdown hit, he was one of the first Michelin-starred chefs to experiment with home delivery. But the land forced him to do more than dabble in it: it was spring and Rogan’s fields were overflowing with produce. So his delivery business grew and grew, inspiring him to buy more land and grow some more. Now he is coming out of lockdown with a whole new business running alongside his restaurant.

In the film, we meet Simon at his base in Cartmel, in the Lake District, and learn more about his story of struggle that turned into a tale of strength. We introduce Simon’s story by beginning the film with him in one of his fields, extolling the virtues of the earth. These are the same fields that inspired his business transformation.

We see Simon travel through the serene landscapes of the Lake District in his Range Rover, juxtaposing this with the frantic energy of a working Michelin-starred kitchen. Throughout the film we tell Simon’s story of determination, overcoming adversity and achieving success, comparing his strength and capability with that of the Range Rover.

Helen Glover

The Olympic champion went into lockdown as a new mother of twins, temporarily and of necessity shelving her Olympic dreams. However, when the Olympics were postponed, she realised she would be able to compete after all and this spurred a renewed sense of determination and purpose around training and rowing. It has not been easy - like many working mums through the pandemic, caring for her children through lockdown has meant that finding ways to train three times a day has called for lots of juggling and patience. The fact that her husband - TV presenter Steve Backshaw - is away for months at a time has meant that she has been doing this single handed, as covid restrictions put paid to getting help with childcare.

We film Helen at her home in Henley, training in her home gym and watched by her children; we see her rowing on the Thames and dragon her Range Rover as she tells her inspirational story.
